Born and raised on a farm in the rural countryside of Buckinghamshire, England, a young boy spent his childhood driving tractors and feeding sheep, all the while dreaming of another life; a life of music. With an insatiable desire to succeed, he moved to London in the 1980s and Los Angeles California in the 1990s. Surmounting many obstacles along the way, Chris eventually realized his wildest dreams and became an international jazz recording artist. This is his story.

Chris Standring is a jazz recording artist who lives in Los Angeles California. Originally from the UK, Chris moved to LA in 1991 to pursue his lifelong dream of ensconcing himself in the music entertainment capital of the world. Now with eight solo albums to his name and several hits at radio, Chris tours regularly across the USA and Europe, including annual shows in his home country of England.

San Diego’s newest, premiere dining and live music establishment – Anthology, offers some of the most legendary acts on stage and in the kitchen. The newly constructed space was specifically designed to offer open sightlines to the stage throughout. Anthology is to quickly proving itself to be downtown’s exceptional world-class destination. Designed by BCV Architects of San Francisco, the acclaimed 13,000 square-foot restaurant and club extends vertically to three levels including a mezzanine and VIP dining room. On the Upper Level guests enjoy indoor/outdoor spaces including the Fireside Lounge with 18 foot fireplace, outdoor Bayside Balcony and Taylor Guitars Private Dining Room. The venue also includes two state-of-the-art kitchens to accommodate both fine dining and private events. Anthology is also proud of their relationship with Taylor Guitars, a local, worldrenowned guitar manufacturer.

Smooth Jazz and Fine Dining – The Baked Potato

The Baked Potato is a noted night club located in Studio City, Los Angeles, often regarded as the world’s oldest music venue specializing in jazz fusion music. The club’s name is derived from its unusual menu which features more than 20 types of baked potatoes.

The kitchen offers massive baked potatoes stuffed with your choice of delicious toppings like Marinated Steak, Chicken Teriyaki, Sautéed Spinach and Mushrooms and serves until 1am. The club was opened in 1970 by composer and musician Don Randi, and often featured his band Quest for many years after opening. It has served in years past as a launchpad for notable musicians including Al Jarreau, Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, Tom Scott and many others. The club has also served as a site for numerous live recordings and music videos, and has also been a magnet for Hollywood celebrities such as actor and jazz aficionado Clint Eastwood, special appearances by Tool drummer Danny Carey, and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
