Humphrey’s Backstage (the bar area) offers Happy Hour, every day of the week including weekends, from 5 to 7 p.m., with pretty damn good live music (and with no cover), and nearly all of the food and drinks are half off the normal price. Humphrey’s Backstage is almost exclusively supported by tourists because it is part of Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn but the locals are missing out on some solid music and excellent food and drink deals.
They have a dance floor open during nightly entertainment. Recommendable are their shrimp and scallop salad, calamari, shrimp quesedillas, and chicken wings! Their sandwiches are also yummy. The friendly and helpful staff, well-made entrees and appetizers, excellent libations, and, best of all, intimate club with live music and dance, make this San Diego’s best date spot.
For lovers of smooth jazz we recommend this place because it’s home of the group Fattburger. One of contemporary instrumental music’s most popular mainstays since the rise of what radio termed New Adult Contemporary in the 1980’s and Smooth Jazz in the 1990’s, the San Diego-based band’s melodic and funky, blues and Latin spiced rhythm and jazz sound has helped both create and define the genre. You can attend their concert on Sunday Jan. 8, 2012 – San Diego, Ca. – Humphreys – 8:00 PM.
